The Wing In memory of Jenifer Patterson, feather artist Not of this world now released from the frail flesh that had sheltered you to find relief in reaches deeper and beyond –
no here, no now, no then, no there go on alone but know
all now so alive will be along, earth’s plenitude, all the dear. No way to stay. How then best to go? Find company for the flight, then work to become the feather that could serve as wing, flutter in the stiff wind lift off and find the air. Jeff Davis attended UNC-Greensboro’s MFA program in creative writing, and studied with Robert Creeley at the State University of New York at Buffalo.
